President’s Report:
• The WCCW needs to add 2 members to replace Marie Guedenet and Joan Erdesky. Joan has
asked Tiffany Arnold from the Herald-Mail to join us at our next meeting in July as a
prospective new member. It was also mentioned that Kelly Wilhelm had expressed her
willingness to return to work on the 2nd volume of the Working Women book. She has also
been asked to attend the meeting in July.
• Bonnie Errico and Ladetra Robinson will be sworn in again for another three-year term to the
WCCW.
• Rose said that the Washington County Commissioners will not re-appoint someone who does
not regularly attend meetings.
• W House — Kathy and Rose went on May 20th – they reviewed the Storybook Project, but
found that many of the children of the residents are older, so this project is not appropriate
there. They spoke to residents about interview techniques, computer skills, transportation
issues. It was suggested that the WCCW could donate bus passes. There is no in-house staff
to show them how to use the in-house computer. CBT training is available to them. Vijay
believes that our $80 contribution to CBT has not been exhausted, but he will check.
• Habitat for Humanity — Pam (from Habitat) will come to speak to us in August. Then the
WCCW will decide to help the build on a particular day. It was suggested that we should
serve a meal to the volunteers on Thursday evening, September 11 from 5–8 p.m. at the
Concord Street house in the West End. Sharon will confirm this to us.
• Ellen will follow-up with Senator Munson to add the WCCW’s endorsement of Carolyn
Brooks for the Hall of Fame.
New Business:
• Sharon says that Habitat is seeking qualified families for Habitat homes. They can
apply on July 28th at 6 p.m. at the Habitat office.

Motion was made and the meeting was adjourned at 8:37 p.m.
Next meeting: Wednesday, July 9th at 6 p.m. at the County office building.
