Natasha Arnall, President

Natasha Arnall was appointed to WCCW in September 2007. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interior Design from American Intercontinental University in Atlanta, Georgia. After relocating to Hagerstown in 2003, Ms. Arnall started Interiors of Maryland, LLC, an interior design firm located in Funkstown. Her commitment to helping others has led her to join Sunrise Rotary in Hagerstown, serve as a member of the Friends of Safe Place board, become youth leader at her church and volunteer at events around the community. She is also a graduate of Leadership Washington County, Class XX. In her free time Natasha enjoys outdoor activities, crafts, spending time with friends and family & helping others. Ms. Arnall joined the WCCW hoping to help increase opportunities for women and girls in Washington County to achieve their potential.

Kathie Boyce, Vice-President

Kathie Boyce was appointed to the Washington County Commission for Women in October 2007. Kathie was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma and moved to Maryland with her husband, Mike, and son, Keagan, in August of 2004. She and her family lived in Frederick, Maryland until February of 2007 at which time they purchased a home and relocated to Hagerstown. Professionally, Kathie is a Special Care Financial Planner helping families with special needs situations prepare for the future of their special needs loved one. She is involved with various women’s organizations, including the Washington County Business and Professional Women’s organization, E-Women Network, and Women On The Move, a newly formed group that she co-founded. In her leisure time, Kathie enjoys reading, watching movies, and, together with her husband, has joined a wine club and is trying her hand at wine making. Kathie has a passion for helping others and making a positive difference in the lives she is fortunate enough to touch. By joining the Commission, Kathie hopes to play a part in helping the women of Washington County develop their full potential and make their hopes and dreams a reality, no matter what their background.

Bonnie J. Errico, Treasurer

Committees: Government | Public Awareness/Public Relations

Bonnie Errico is a resident of Hagerstown with two grown children. She works for Airborne Law Enforcement Association in Frederick, MD. ALEA is an association of law enforcement pilots and those that support them. Ms. Errico also works as an Adjunct Instructor at HCC, currently teaching online courses. Ms. Errico has earned an MBA from Frostburg University, a BA from Hood College with a double major in Political Science and Sociology, and two AA's from Hagerstown Community College in Communications and Liberal Arts. Bonnie is a member of the American Association of University Women and the Women at the Table. Her hobbies are reading, watching movies, and cooking. Bonnie joined the Washington County Commission for Women because she wanted to become involved in an organization that could help bring about changes by bringing women's issues to the attention of the community.

Ruth Anne Callaham

Ruth Anne Callaham and her husband Art have lived in Washington County for 30 years. They have two grown children.Mrs. Callaham holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Southwest Texas State University and a Masters of Business Administration from Mount Saint Mary’s University. Following 23 years as a project manager for the Federal government Ms. Callaham is currently employed as the Executive Director of Food Resources, a local non-profit food bank warehouse. Well focused on the achievement of children she has been a classroom teacher, substitute teacher, youth basketball coach, church youth group leader and most recently an elected member of the Washington County Public Schools Board of Education.

Tara Horst

Committees: Public Awareness/Public Relations

Tara Horst was appointed to the Washington County Commission for Women in March 2009. She spent her formative years in Allegany County, Maryland and has lived in Washington County for the last 10 years. Dr. Horst joined the commission in order promote issues of importance to women and girls in the Washington County community. She earned a BS degree in Education and a MBA from Frostburg State University and a Doctor of Education degree in Adult Education from Penn State University. Dr. Horst is a graduate of Leadership Washington County, Class XXI and serves as President for the Washington County Public Schools Education Foundation Board of Directors, a Board Member for Habitat for Humanity of Washington County, a Board Member for the Washington County Arts Council and as members of the Program and Boardsmanship Committees for Leadership Washington County. She is married and enjoys running, yoga, gardening, travel, and spending quality time with friends and family. Professionally, she is committed to education, especially enhancing the personal and professional development of women and girls. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the John L. Grove College of Business at Shippensburg University

Mary Jane Koontz

Committees:

Mary Jane Koontz is a native of the Hagerstown area. After graduation, Mary Jane married and moved to New Oxford, Pa where she raised 2 sons and 2 daughters. While her sons were growing up, she served as Den Mother to their Boy Scout Troop. Mary Jane was an accomplished Avon sales representative for over 35 years. She also started Hub City Express in 1979. The company has grown into a family business as two of her children and son-in-law are actively involved in the business. Mary Jane has also volunteered her time to numerous organizations including Cancer Society of Washington County, Audubon Society, Humane Society for Animals, as well as being a clown with the Waynesboro Klown Club. Ms. Koontz also volunteers with her church, the Benevola United Methodist Church. Some of Mary Jane's hobbies include bowling, helping with political campaigns and writing songs, one of which was copyrighted in New York.

Shalom Black Lane

Committees:

Shalom was raised in Washington County, graduating from Boonsboro High School. She received her Bachelor’s degree in English and Philosophy/Religion from Bridgewater College, her Master’s in Comparative Literature from Dartmouth College, and PhDs (ABD) in both English and Educational Psychology from the Catholic University of America. Before moving back to Washington County in December 2008, Shalom worked as a professor, grant writer, and researcher in Washington DC, and as a program director for an arts education organization in Indianapolis, IN. She currently serves as the Executive Director for the Washington County Teen Pregnancy Prevention Coalition. She joined the Commission because she sees the need for the young women of our county to set higher goals for their lives. Shalom is involved with her home church, Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren, where her mother Rachel is pastor, as well as Blue Rock United Brethren, where her husband Adam is associate pastor.

Ellen Maddock

Committees: Government | Education

Ellen was sworn in as a Commissioner for a three-year term in 2007.  She moved to Washington County four years ago with her husband, Lew, who is an electrical engineer and her son, Eric, who is a correction’s officer.  Ellen graduated from the University of Connecticut and did graduate work at East Tennessee State University.  She currently is employed by Aronson & Company in Rockville as a Certified Public Accountant.  As a CPA Ellen is very aware of the economic challenges facing women today; she looks forward to utilizing her expertise to help women learn about fiscal responsibility, how to use a household budget and balance a checkbook.  She is also interested in teaching financial literacy to young people in Washington County.  Ellen is active in the Maryland Association of CPA’s as a member of the State Tax Committee; in that capacity she interacts with Washington County’s senator and delegates during the legislative session each year.  Ellen continues to participate with the Montgomery County Commission for Women as a panelist for a program entitled, “Divorce and the Family Home” where she counsels women on the options they have to stay in the family home during and after divorce.  Ellen has five children and ten grandchildren.  Her other interests include playing bridge, reading, swimming and needlepoint.

Ladetra Robinson

Ladetra Robinson was appointed to the Washington County Commission for Women in July 2005. She was born in North Carolina, raised in Los Angeles, California and has lived in Hagerstown since 2001. Ladetra and her husband, George Jr., are the proud parents of three children—George III, Amber and Randy. Mrs. Robinson received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of California-Los Angeles. She graduated from Hagerstown Neighborhood 1st College in 2005. She is a realtor in the state of Maryland. Ladetra is employed with the Memorial Recration Center as Program Director, in Hagerstown. She is the Founder/President of Sisters In Spirit Book Club, and on the Advisory Board for the H.E.R magazine of Hagerstown, Maryland. She has opened the Blossom Charm/Etiquitte School in 2008. Mrs. Robinson joined the Commission for Women as she is an avid supporter of equal opportunities for women.

Vijay-Kumar Solanki

Committees: Public Awareness/Public Relations

Vijay-Kumar Solanki is currently serving his second term with the Women's Commission, and has assisted the commission previous. He was born in Kampala, Uganda, moved to Austria, and finally settled in Hagerstown with his family. Commissioner Solanki has been an educator since 1985, using different models of education, and in several genres. He has attended Hagerstown Junior College, and Shepherd College, starting with a Pure Math/Computer Science degree, then moving to a Music Education/Composition degree - with a dual instrument major of guitar and violin. Commissioner Solanki currently owns Wave Industries - an audio/video company, works for d'Vinci Interactive - a multimedia eLearning development company. On rare occasions, he can also be seen performing in the tri-state area. When asked why he decided to apply for a spot on the Commission, he states that women need an equal footing in society, and though he is not a woman, he has, "... a little woman at home."
